CILT Ghana assures the New Transport Minister of its Support

A delegation from The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ghana, led by President Engr. Mark Amoamah FCILT, paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Minister of Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, to congratulate him on his appointment. The CILT Ghana team assured the Minister of the Institute’s full support for the Ministry’s initiatives and agenda.

During the meeting, Engr Amoamah, FCILT gave a brief introduction of the Institute and outlined some key areas of the Institute’s support to the Minister.

The President reaffirmed CILT Ghana’s commitment to collaborating with the Ministry to enhance Ghana’s transportation and logistics sector. He highlighted the Institute’s expertise in logistics, transport and supply chain and its readiness to provide technical assistance and capacity building to support the Ministry’s programmes.

The Minister of Transport welcomed the CILT Ghana delegation and expressed his appreciation for the Institute’s support for the Ministry through its representation on the Ministerial Advisory Board over the years. He was confident that the Reset Agenda of the government would work and was elated to see most of the Directors within the Ministry being members of CILT. He promised to liaise with the Directors to encourage some of the other staff of the Ministry to also join the Institute.

The Minister acknowledged the importance of collaboration with professional bodies like CILT in achieving the Ministry’s goals and emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the transport sector in the country. He promised to rely on the Institute for its professional ideas for the growth and development of the sector.

Hon. Nikpe appealed to the Institute to establish a Section in the Northern region to also cater for those within that geographical area.

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to maintain open communication and work together to address the challenges and opportunities in the transportation sector.

Other members of the CILT Ghana team included Patrick Andoh FCILT, Executive Secretary, Mr. Lackson Legah CMILT, Vice President – Finance; Mrs. Naa Densua Aryeetey FCILT, Vice President – Maritime; Mr. Ebenezer Adjei Okpoti FCILT, Accra Section Chairman; Cdre Ben Baba Abdul CMILT, a Chartered Member and Mr. Frank Osei CMILT, Administrative Manager.

On the part of the Ministry were, Mrs. Mabel Sagoe FCILT, Chief Director; Mrs. Irene Odokai Messiba FCILT, Director for Planning Monitoring and Evaluation; Mr. Daniel Essel CMILT, Deputy Director for Planning Monitoring and Evaluation; Dr. William Oppong CMILT, Director of Procurement; Mr. Nathaniel Wilson, Director of HRMD and other staff of the Ministry.
