A logistics, haulage, shipping & freight forwarding company is looking to recruit an Airfreight General Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Ensuring that requisite documentations and processing for imports and exports in the Shipping, Clearing & Forwarding and Container Freight Station Departments are received and discharged in a timely and secured manner by the Heads of Departments and Supervisors.
• Ensuring that the Tema/Accra/Takoradi Branch is run efficiently and harmoniously to achieve set goals of the Company.
• Ensuring that all departments in the Tema/Accra/Takoradi Branch are compliant with statutory regulations.
• Management of employees of Tema/Accra/Takoradi Branch.
• Management of Clients’ relationships and retention of the Tema/Accra/Takoradi Branch.
• Collating weekly/monthly/ quarterly (on request) reports of all departments except Finance & Accounts and Human Resource, Administration & Archiving, Procurement & Assets, Health, Safety & Environment Departments in the Tema/Accra/Takoradi Branch and summarizing into one report to the Chief Operating Officer.
• Ensuring that all reports, proposals and other documents required by the Chief Operating Officer are presented on time.
• Generating Daily dispatch/weekly/monthly and quarterly (on request) reports to regular clients using the agreed format(s)
• Assisting and coordinating in the collection of debts for the branch.
Education : A bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or CILT Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage. The candidate must be a Chartered Member of CILT.
Professional experience : Several years of experience in the airfreight industry, preferably in a managerial or leadership role, is typically necessary. The candidate should have a strong understanding of leadership, communication, customer management (internal & external), financial reporting, airfreight operations, regulations, and industry trends.
