CILT WEBINAR: Where is Digitalisation in the Transport and Logistics Space heading?

We are pleased to announce that the first in our ‘Digitalisation Series’ of international webinars examining Digitalisation and Industry 4.0 issues in relation to the logistics and transport sector will take place on Thursday 23 September under the theme “Where is Digitalisation in the Transport and Logistics Space Heading?

The logistics industry faces a challenging future. Environmental risks, geopolitical risks, demographic changes, and potential regulatory restrictions will all appear as speed bumps over the next ten years. This webinar will focus on the rapidly evolving digital technology landscape and examine how some of these technologies might help in smoothing the ride ahead for the logistics and transport industry.

The webinar will examine the primary trends from a technical perspective in the freight and transport arena (including the efficiency focus of new technologies linked back to sustainability), consider capability and skills requirements for implementation of new technologies, and discuss the implementation of new technologies in emerging markets.

Professor Dr Franklin is Professor of Logistics Practice and Academic Director of Executive Education at Kuehne Logistics University. Professor Franklin, an engineer and operations manager by training and experience, received his Doctorate in Management from the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The Professor’s research focuses on the application of modern management techniques to the efficient and effective operation of supply chains, sustainable business models, green logistics, corporate social responsibility and cloud based supply chain management.
