Dr. Mrs. Doreen Owusu-Fianko, Chairperson of WiLAT Ghana participates in the 6th WiLAT Nigeria Day
The 6th WiLAT Nigeria Day Conference was held under the theme “Corporate Social Responsibility: The Logistics and Transport Perspectives”. Being an annual event, the Conference brought together key women who have developed careers and made tremendous impact in the Logistics and Transport Sector to discuss pertinent issues concerning the Industry.
Using the degradation in the Niger Delta Region and Apapa Congestion in Lagos, the Guest speaker, Hajia Lami Tumaka said the unrest and sufferings could have been prevented if Organizations operating in the areas are committed to Corporate Social Responsibility.
Organizations were entreated to be more involved in what is happening in their areas of operation and charged to make Corporate Social Responsibilities a priority as well as engage in projects that are sustainable. Major Ibrahim, CILT Nigeria President also admonished Corporate Organizations and Individuals to also give back to the Society.
Dr. Mrs. Doreen Owusu-Fianko, Regional Coordinator presented a report on WiLAT Africa and on behalf of WiLAT Ghana commended WiLAT Nigeria for being the trail blazers and the Indefatigable Hajia Aisha Ibrahim for her Selfless Contribution to the growth of WiLAT Africa and Global as a whole. The conference had representatives from WiLAT Zambia and South Africa supporting WiLAT Nigeria.
