General Objective:

The courses aim at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to manage Logistics, Transport and general Supply Chain operations in their respective organizations.

Specific Objectives:

Among other objectives, the participants will be able to:

  1. Professionally manage Inventories and Warehouse Operations
  2. Evaluate financing options for Transport acquisition and Operations
  3. Effectively handle Goods and Services Distribution
  4. Appreciate the strategic role of Logistics and Transport in the organization’s operations

Target Group:

This course is designed for senior managers, middle line managers and supervisors working in the field of Logistics and Transport, Freight Forwarders, personnel in Supply and Transport department in Government Institutions, the Armed Forces, Police, Fire Service and CEPS. The others are Warehousing and Stores Managers, Airline Workers, Shipping Companies Workers and other Professionals who want to pursue a career in Logistics and Transport Operations and Management.

Course Content:

INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT – CILT

This is a modular programme designed to increase core skills and knowledge and build the confidence to improve personally and professionally.

Candidates must successfully complete four (4) modules through examinations (3 compulsory and 1 optional)

Compulsory Modules:

  1. Module A – Supply Chain Operations
  2. Module B – Business Theory
  3. Module C – Business Applications

Optional Modules:

1.         Warehousing                                                              5. Freight Operations

2.        Port Operations                                                          6. Procurement

3.        Transport Planning                                                     7. Inventory

4.        Global Logistics                                                           8. Passenger Transport  Operation

Entry Requirements:

  1. To qualify for this program, participants ought to have been educated up to Senior High School (SHS), GCE Ordinary or Advanced Levels with a minimum of credit passes; or equivalent professional qualifications.
  2. Mature Entry Exams will be taken by applicants who are 27 years and above but do not meet the academic qualification for only the certificate level.

 

INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA IN LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT – DILT

Candidates must successfully complete five (5) modules through examinations (2 compulsory + 1 elective + 2 optional) or (2 compulsory + 2 elective + 1 optional)

Compulsory:

  1. Management in Logistics and Transport
  2. Supply Chain Management

Electives:

  1. Transport Planning
  2. Transport Operations

Optional:

  1. Inventory                                    6. Warehousing
  2. Movement of Goods                 7. Supply Chain Flow Planning
  3. Movement of People                8.International Business/Global Logistics
  4. Retail Logistics                          9. Supply Chain Network Planning
  5. Sourcing and Procurement    10. Transport and Society

Entry Requirements:

  1. Possession of the International Certificate in Logistics and Transport of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or
  2. Possession of a University First Degree and/or HND (or equivalencies) coupled with relevant areas of study
  3. In addition, participants must have worked in a Logistics and Transport environment for a minimum of three years.

 

INTERNATIONAL ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT – ADILT

The Advanced Diploma aims to give senior managers and leader’s strategic management and decision-making skills to enable them to aspire to the highest levels of management. The Advanced Diploma also includes organizational planning. Participants are expected to become familiar with analytical concepts and to use them in their management role. They will be aware of ethical issues, sustainability and global environmental issues.

Candidates must successfully complete five (5) Compulsory Modules

  1. Strategic Contexts
  2. Leadership and Strategic Management
  3. Strategic Network Planning
  4. Delivery Strategic Performance
  5. Research Methods and Professional Projects

Entry Requirements:

  1. Possession of the International Diploma in Logistics and Transport of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or
  2. First Degree/Masters in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport or Procurement related discipline with any accredited institution.
  3. In addition, participants must have worked in a Logistics and Transport environment for a minimum of three years.

 Course Fee:

  1. International Certificate in Logistics and Transport (CILT): GHC 2,050.00 (Ghanaian) and GHC 2,250.00 (Non-Ghanaian). In addition, students will pay an equivalent of £170 to CILT International for International Student Registration.
  2. International Diploma in Logistics and Transport (DILT): GHC 2,790.00 (Ghanaian) and GHC 2,990.00 (Non-Ghanaian). In addition, students will pay an equivalent of £200 to CILT International for International Student Registration.
  3. International Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport (ADILT): GHC3, 200.00 (Ghanaian) and GHC 3,500.00 (Non-Ghanaian). In addition, students will pay an equivalent of £230 to CILT International for International Student Registration.

Duration:

(A) International Certificate in Logistics and Transport(CILT): Six (6) Months

(Five (5) Months course work plus One (1) Month for revision, assignments and examination)

(B) International Diploma in Logistics and Transport (DILT): The programme covers two (2) semesters

(C)  International Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport (ADILT)The programme covers trimesters (3)

Venue:

Lectures will be held on the GTUC – Tesano Campus, Accra

Faculty:

The programme will be facilitated by experienced GTUC, CILT faculty and experts from industry.

Course Delivery Schedule:

Saturdays: 8:00am – 6:00pm for Advanced Diploma,

Evenings: 5:00pm – 8:00pm for Diploma students; and 6:00pm – 8:00pm for Certificate students on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Application forms may be obtained from our website cpd.gtuc.edu.ghor www.ciltgh.org and paid for at Ecobank (GTUC-CPD, A/C No. 0550134465742901, Tesano branch) before submission and the pay in slip submitted to GTUC Cash Office at the cost of GHC100.00, forms can also be obtained at the Center for Professional Development.

IMPORTANT: CILT (ADILT) Qualifications will enable you qualify for the grade of Chartered Membership and also pursue Master’s programmes in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at GTUC.
